As a growing arts festival, we rely on the time and support from our volunteers, without which LIC Arts Open wouldn't exist. If you're interested in volunteering, please contact Richard at firstname.lastname@example.org or click below to submit your info.
Special Events & Art Auction
Join this exciting committee in coordinating the silent auction, consisting of over 100 donated pieces from our exhibiting artists and local business partners. These volunteers will also assist with the LIC Arts Open Student Program and Kids' Postcard Design Contest.
Public Relations & Hospitality
Volunteer will, aside from connecting with the media, coordinate VIP invitations and provide community outreach to key leaders to build awareness and exposure for the festival. S/he will also greet artists, political leaders and local influencers, while tracking who's in attendance.
Volunteers will assist with the physical installation of work, obtaining materials for the artist, and developing supportive materials, such as artist bios, statements, and title cards. This is a great way to get to know the artists, and gain valuable production assistant and client relations experience.
Food & Beverage Coordination
Volunteers will be involved with inventory management and coordination of product distribution at events.
Festival Ambassador volunteers are the hosts of the festival. They meet and greet the guests, offer assistance, contact security when needed, distribute guides, maps, answer questions, give directions, and help to keep the festival energy high--but most of all, they make our guests feel welcome!
Volunteers assist with cash and credit card transactions, make change for vendors and report sales at fundraisers. They'll also maintain a spreadsheet of price lists for the art. Accounting, banking and/or cash handling experience preferred but not required.
Help us to temporarily transform LIC into a playground for the arts. Put your creative and physical energy to work by helping us install the largest festival in Queens--on stage, in the streets, hotels and restaurants, and at pop-up exhibits in unexpected urban places. Some experience in audio visual, art installation and set building preferred, but not required.
Production volunteers make sure all signs and banners are in their proper places throughout the festival. They're responsible for replenishing printed guides and promotional materials in partner venues. In addition, they help to maintain the print production schedule for all materials.
Give us a hand at the office performing light administrative duties, including handling phones, mail, filing, schedules, data entry, submissions and general office assistance. Microsoft Office amd database proficiency preferred.
