I'm a textile artist who creates hand-dyed and printed cloth. Working with cotton, linen, silk and water based dyes, I add my influence to the organic reactions that happen when dye meets cloth. Shibori, printing with hand drawn silkscreens and painting are some of my favorite methods. I create layers that tell a story and am intrigued by how the dyes interact and the patterns and images that emerge. My fabric line, Vive Handmade, currently encompasses pillows and other décor, scarves, clothing and children’s items. I enjoy working on custom projects for interiors and also event and wedding design, creating palettes or matching existing colors. Recently, I filled the lounge area of The Local NY in LIC with large, shibori-dyed cushions to enhance the relaxing atmosphere; guests surround themselves with favorite colors to create their unique comfort zones. Why Vive Handmade? Vive is about life and celebration, and my fabrics are created to inspire and evoke that - joyous life!
