Jason Artiga has been a photographer and filmmaker for 15 years. Raised in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York, he was exposed to the arts at a very young age. In the early eighties, Jason's father, who worked as an elevator man in Wooster Art Gallery in Soho, personally introduced him to artists Basquiat and Keith Haring. At only 5 years old, Jason was asked by artist Keith Haring what he wanted to be when he grew up. While looking around at all the great works of art on the wall, Jason responded that his dream was to become an artist. This event had an everlasting impact on Jason and he instantly knew he was going to be an artist. As an illustrator, Jason's mother encouraged him to continue to draw and take art classes, and to this day she completely supports the direction that he has chosen to take with his life. Starting off with Illustration and painting, then gradually moving into photography, Jason realized that he had met his calling. Photography had ultimately changed.
