Motion, flow, energy, and passion are the instinctual elements that find their way into my work. The human figure with its proportional and balanced structure is the inspiration and foundation of my work. I am wondrous of the human spirit within the mechanism of the human body. My imagination thrives, as my questions remain unanswered. The urban environment in which I live, is further inspiration. I mentally absorb snapshots of life, color, texture, decay, motion, sound, joy, sadness and renewal.
The figure is abstracted, freeing me from representational constraint. I work intuitively, not quite knowing what will emerge. The work takes on a life of it’s own, stimulating the viewer’s imagination and allowing for their participation in the creative process. Such collaboration is my reward.
