Cara Lynch is an emerging artist living and working in New York City. Working across different media, she explores tensions between art and craft, class and taste, beauty and value, sentiment and spectacle. Lynch has completed a number of large-scale public projects in the New York area, including in Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Westchester, and beyond. In 2016, Lynch completed her first permanent public work, an installation commissioned by the NYC MTA. “Inheritance: In Memory of American Glass” is to be installed in April 2016 at the Ditmas Avenue stop on the F subway line. She has also been commissioned by, or received grants from NYC Department of Transportation, Queens Council on the Arts, Brooklyn Arts Council, Women's Studio Workshop, and Adelphi University, among others.
