Ashley Middleton is a New York-based visual artist who, through photographic play, researches the relationship between the ego, the individual, and the collective. With an emphasis on codified interactions, technology, and gesture, Ashley is interested in the evolution of embodied practices and social connectivity. Her work explores the territory between the virtual and physical worlds - as well as the embodiment of those territories - paying particular attention to how identities are formed in and through the language of new and old media. She has an M.F.A. from Parsons School of Design and an M.A. from Goldsmiths, University of London.
