The 5th Annual LIC Arts Open--Queens' largest arts festival--will be holding its annual fundraiser on Tue, May 5, 2015. The event will take place in artists Orestes Gonzalez's and Cristian Pietrapiana's lovely home, which boasts one of the largest private gardens in Long Island City. The ticketed event will provide attendees an unforgettable evening of fine dining, music and conversation as well as officially launch LIC Arts Open 2015.
The awards ceremony will be followed by a specially designed menu from two of LIC’s most talented chefs:
Chef Shaun Dougherty is the proprietor of Crescent Grill. Located in the Dutch Kills neighborhood of Long Island City, Queens, Crescent Grill is a farm-to-table restaurant focused on providing sustainable fare for New York's residents and visitors alike. The chef and owner of Crescent Grill has also worked in St, Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands where he specialized in both classical European fine dining as well as American-style pub food. While in St. Croix, Shaun learned “the most important skill,” of his business practice: building relationships with local farmers and purveyors. In partnership with his brother Dan, a longtime LIC resident, Shaun Dougherty opened Crescent Grill in 2013, sourcing his ingredients from farms in the greater east coast region.
Chef Gianna Cerbone is the proprietor of Manducatis Rustica Gianna and a second-generation culinary leader. Cerbone studied fine arts and is a graduate of Goldman Sachs’s 10,000 Small Businesses program, has received various proclamations, awards, and certificates for her business and community leadership.
"I am delighted to add my contribution to what promises to be a spectacular evening in support of the LIC Arts Open -- the largest art festival in Queens," Cerbone said. "I'm looking forward to seeing some the city's great art and food lovers come together to celebrate such distinguished figures in the LIC art world."
A selection of fine wines will be provided by Blue Streak, craft beers by Rockaway Brewery and Company and produce by Foodcellar & Co. Green Mountain Graphics is designing the awards.
